René Weseler stands for a clear conviction: AI is only a competitive advantage when it is reliable, auditable, and practical to use.
At Buildsimple, he drives the strategic positioning around input management in regulated environments—with a focus on the financial and insurance sectors as well as growing requirements in the public sector.

Before helping to build Buildsimple, René gained hands-on experience in product development and technology: he started as a software developer (Java) and developed over many years in the fields of enterprise content management and product development—initially as a Senior Consultant, later as Head of Product Development, and subsequently as CTO at ISR Information Products AG. This career path continues to shape his style today: less “AI for AI’s sake,” more focus on clean processes, robust architecture, and measurable results.

In interviews and podcast formats, he discusses how AI models can be meaningfully embedded into processes: with human-in-the-loop, governance, versioning, and clear guardrails. At the same time, he brings international project experience from digital transformation initiatives and engages intensively with the tension between innovation, responsibility, and sovereignty.

Born in Erfurt, René is a Formula 1 and classic car enthusiast. He has always had a strong interest in photography and even worked as a professional fashion photographer in the past. As a father of three, his free time is currently shaped above all by family activities and tennis.
