This was AWS Summit 2019, Berlin

For two days, around 5500 visitors gathered information about Amazon Cloud services at the AWS Summit 2019 in Berlin. This year's Summit was completely sold out. The topic par excellence: Machine Learning.

AWS offers software solutions at the push of a button. The advantage for many companies is that they can create and use cloud solutions with just a few clicks. Werner Vogels presented in perfect condition on two days, almost two hours each different AWS services. Also customers from Germany became part of the presentation and showed off their products.

Many different people, teams are everything

This year's Summit was visited very well. Everyone wants to contribute his share to a new future, to change something; being a Gamechanger. Noticeable here is the enormous team player concept. The collaboration is definitely an essential part to recognize problems and to develop new solutions. The team structures should not consist of too many people, says Vogels.

We were on location and presented our products

René Weseler, CTO at Buildsimple, presented our product range in the Early Morning Breakout Sessions. We also use machine learning to better understand documents. Thus it is possible to provide an efficient and automatic document analysis and processing for companies. In his presentation, Weseler explained how a SaaS application can be built and then sold at the AWS Marketplace. You can see the slides via speakerdeck here.

Machine learning is a big thing for AWS. Amazon's CTO Werner Vogels explains that in 73 percent of the cases the so-called Tensorflow is used. An open source software developed by Google. AWS makes use of this software, but does make it accessible and easy to use for customers, thanks to the integration with AWS Sagemaker. Vogels further explains that Tensorflow works 25 percent faster with AWS than the actual software itself.

Big topic: Security is the DNA of every service

Security must (still) remain the number one topic when services are used, according to Vogels:

I believe everybody should become security engineers, security will always be priority number one.

The security of all AWS services is one of the most important aspects. It's got to go into everyone's DNA. Only secure services and products are good services. Read more about security at Buildsimple in our free whitepaper.
